1993 Ford Mustang 5.0 racing a Paxton supercharger

With interest in Fox-bodied Mustangs growing, the pick of the day rings the bell, a 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback in black, its V8 power bolstered by a Paxton supercharger.

It was the last year for these classic models, and the LX was the top-of-the-line version, this Mustang equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, to better wrest the sportiest performance from the supercharged pony car.

“This Mustang is ready to bring a lot of fun,” says the Benson, North Carolina dealership, which advertises the car on ClassicCars.com. “The Paxton Compressor is a very exciting addition to the already thrilling 5.0L 5-speed manual combo. Finished in a sleek black clear paint covering the black interior, you’ll be sure to turn heads.

The paint and trim are clearly visible, the seller says, and the 5-spoke pony wheels are rash-free. The Mustang drives very well, adds the seller, with just over 73,000 miles.

“Helping power this 5.0 is an SN93 Paxton compressor,” the seller notes. “This supercharger was professionally installed and has a very clean, factory look under the hood.

“At the first start, you will be extremely satisfied by the sound produced by this Mustang. After going through long tube headers and a custom exhaust, the sound is very quiet at idle while producing a great aggressive sound when accelerating. This engine runs smoothly with more than enough power to get you where you need to go! »

The Mustang’s interior is also very nice, the seller says, with few signs of wear and obviously well maintained by its sole owner.

“The interior is extremely clean and shows little to no wear,” the ad reads. “The seats are clean and plush, a very comfortable place to sit. The dashboard is free and clean of any cracks or discoloration. The gauges are clean and crisp. All panels in this interior are extremely clean and stand out very well. The factory air conditioning works very well.

The asking price is $29,500, which seems reasonable for such a clean and capable example of a classic Mustang.

“With one owner, low miles, 5-speed transmission and supercharger, it’s hard to beat this last year of ‘notchback’ production,” the seller concludes.
